Headshot photo policy

This page says plainly what happens to your photo in the headshot maker. Questions: support@secondsummit.ai.

In short

Clean up: free, in your browser

You choose a photo. Your browser finds your face to frame the picture, replaces the background, balances the light and makes the sizes. Your photo is not uploaded to us or to anyone. The first time you use it, the editing tools download to your browser (about 20 MB, once) from our own site; your photo is not part of that. When you are done, one button deletes your original and every file from your device.

Pro look: made with AI from your real photo

What happens. When you press "Make my Pro look" and agree on the consent screen, your browser shrinks your photo and sends it to our server. If you added up to three more photos of you, they are sent too. Our server sends the photo or photos, with a fixed set of instructions, to an AI image provider, a separate company that makes the picture for us. It makes a new picture of you in the outfit, backdrop and light you chose. The picture comes back through our server to your browser. The same provider also checks your photo before Pro look, to tell you if a retake would help.

What the instructions say. They ask for a change only to the background, the lighting, the outfit colour (from a short list) and the sharpness, and they say not to change your face shape, features, age, body or expression. Light skin retouch is on unless you turn it off: it smooths temporary spots, redness, shine and dark circles, keeps lines, moles, scars, freckles and skin texture, and is told not to make you look older or younger. You cannot change the instructions.

Your face. We ask the model not to change your face shape or features, and we do not rely on that alone. The model redraws the picture, so small details, such as the width of a nose or the colour of your eyes, can look slightly different from your photo. After the picture comes back, a check in your browser compares the width and proportions of your face in the two pictures, using points the check finds on your device. If your face looks noticeably wider or narrower, we hide the picture behind a note, and you can choose to show it anyway. Nothing is deleted or sent anywhere. We do not collect, keep or send those points or any measurement of your face. Look at every picture next to your photo before you use it.

You decide. You see every picture before you use it. Nothing is added to your Second Summit page or shared unless you choose it. If a look is not quite right, you can try it again once, free.

Label. Every Pro look picture is labelled "Edited with AI" next to it, and the label says what was changed.

What we keep. We delete your photo as soon as your picture starts being made. The finished picture waits for you to download it and is deleted when you do, and at the latest within an hour. Our own logs do not contain your photo. The picture lives on your device until you delete it. We keep two small records: a note that you agreed (your state, that you confirmed you are 18 or older and that the photo is of you, that you agreed, the date and time, and the version of the text you saw) and a usage record (the time, the size and the cost of each request, used for daily limits). Neither has a photo in it.

What the provider keeps. The provider keeps a copy of your request and the result for up to 55 days to check for misuse, and says it does not use them to improve its products. We cannot delete that copy. See Who our service providers are.

What we do not do. We do not use your photos or pictures to train any model. We do not sell them and we do not use them for advertising. We do not promise that a result looks like you, that it looks like a photographer's work, or that other people cannot tell it was edited.
