About the Company
Passage Health is a fast-growing Series A startup on a mission to improve the quality and accessibility of autism care through technology. Autism diagnosis rates have surged over the past decade to 1 in 31 children, yet families still face waitlists of up to a year for care as providers—hampered by antiquated technology and manual workflows—struggle to meet surging demand.
We’re building the platform that modernizes how autism care providers work—from clinical documentation to operations to billing—transforming how care is delivered and scaling access across a $460B market.
Over the past year, Passage has grown more than 3x, driven by strong customer demand and expanding partnerships across the autism care ecosystem. As we scale, we’re focused on building durable foundations—the systems, processes, and decision-making needed to support long-term growth.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Senior Platform Engineer, you’ll own the foundational infrastructure the rest of engineering builds on. This is a largely greenfield role: you’ll define the platform and tooling needed to support our AI efforts—including the environments and test harnesses that let AI agents (“bots”) safely exercise and validate how our systems behave. Reporting directly to our founder and CTO, you’ll make high-leverage decisions about our infrastructure, CI/CD, and developer experience, and set the standards the rest of the team follows.
What Success Looks Like
- Infrastructure as Code: Design and manage our cloud infrastructure as code with Terraform on AWS, keeping it reproducible, reviewable, and ready to scale.
- End-to-End Ownership: Own our infrastructure end to end—making the greenfield decisions that shape our platform and the tooling the rest of engineering builds on.
- CI/CD & Developer Experience: Own and continuously improve our CI/CD pipelines in GitHub so engineers can ship quickly, safely, and often.
- Reliability & Scale: Keep the platform secure, observable, and dependable as the product and team grow.
- Technical Leadership: Set infrastructure standards and partner across engineering, bringing strong product knowledge of what we’re building and why.
What You’ll Bring
- Experience: Proven experience in platform, infrastructure, or DevOps/SRE engineering, including building and running production systems at scale.
- Infrastructure as Code: Hands-on expertise with Terraform and AWS, and a code-first approach to managing infrastructure.
- CI/CD & GitHub: Deep experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and working day to day in GitHub.
- Node.js & TypeScript: Experience building and running production services in Node.js and TypeScript.
- Language-Agnostic: Comfortable working across languages and picking up new tools as needed—TypeScript is our primary language, but you’re not tied to it.
- Product Mindset: Strong product sense—you understand how infrastructure decisions shape the product and the people who use it.
- Ownership: Thrives with autonomy and greenfield ambiguity, taking end-to-end ownership of decisions in a fast-moving environment.
Tools & Technology
- Terraform (infrastructure as code)
