Offer comparison
Put two or three offers side by side. See what each is worth a year and in the first year, restated for local prices, and score the things money does not capture with your own ratings. It runs in your browser, and nothing you type is sent anywhere.
Your offers
Choose a place to see every offer in that place's prices, or average US prices to compare them on one scale.
How it works
- Ongoing value = base + bonus (base times your target percentage) + your yearly equity estimate + the yearly benefits you value. First year adds the sign-on bonus.
- Price adjustment: each offer is divided by its place's price level and multiplied by the level of the place you chose. Price levels are the Bureau of Economic Analysis regional price parities for 140 metro areas and states, with the US average at 100. Taxes, your own spending and relocation costs are not included.
- Equity and bonuses are your estimates, not guarantees. Enter 0 for anything you do not trust.
- Ratings: your 1 to 5 ratings are averaged using your weights and shown on their own. They are not added to the money.
Before you decide
- Ask each employer what the bonus and equity paid out in practice and over how long equity vests.
- Compare cities with the paycheck calculator.
- Check the range in the posting: how to read a posted pay range.
