Questions
Is the free headshot editor really free?
Yes. It is free to use, with no sign-up and no watermark.
Does my photo leave my device?
No. Everything happens in your browser and nothing is uploaded. The first time you use the editor, its tools download to your browser (about 20 MB, once); your photo is not part of that.
Does it use AI?
No generative AI. It finds your face and cuts you out of the background with small models that run on your device, and it changes only what you set: background, framing, light, colour, and skin and teeth if you move those sliders.
Can I change my background?
Yes. Choose Studio, Navy, Warm, Soft green, My colour (a colour you pick) or Soft blur, or keep Original.
What sizes do I get?
Seven files from one photo: two LinkedIn photo sizes, a 4 by 5 portrait as JPG and WebP, a round email-signature picture, a larger round picture and a LinkedIn banner.
Can I use it for LinkedIn?
Yes. It makes a 400 by 400 and a 1000 by 1000 photo that fit LinkedIn's limits. See the size rules and their source.
Should I put the photo on my resume?
Usually not in the United States. Read why, and where a headshot does belong.
How is this different from Pro look?
The free editor keeps your own photo as it is. Pro look makes a new version of it with AI, so it can change your outfit and light; it is labelled "Edited with AI" and is not free after the monthly free session. See the comparison.
How do I delete my photo?
Press "Delete my photos". It removes your original and every file the editor made from your device.
